New Constructware 2006 Download: Best Practices and Case Studies

Autodesk Media and Entertainment products are designed for digital media creation, management, and delivery, from film and television visual effects, color grading, and editing to animation, game development, and design visualization. Autodesk's Media and Entertainment Division is based in Montreal, Quebec. It was established in 1999 after Autodesk, Inc. acquired Discreet Logic, Inc. and merged its operations with Kinetix. In January 2006, Autodesk acquired Alias, a developer of 3D graphics technology. In October 2008, Autodesk acquired the Softimage brand from Avid.[96] The principal product offerings from the Media and Entertainment Division are Flame, and the Media & Entertainment Collection, which include Maya, 3ds Max, Arnold, MotionBuilder, Mudbox, and ReCap Pro.

Thanks to everyone who downloaded the beta of the Hotfix from this blog and provided success and failure ports. There are rare circumstances where the Hotfix for the Autodesk DWF Viewer 7.0 cannot detect the presence of the viewer. In these cases, uninstall and re-install. You can then successfully apply the Hotfix. (I installed the released hotfix over the top of my beta hotfixed applications rather than uninstall the beta hotfixes beforehand.)

As you can probably imagine, we're unable to maintain an ever increasing number of prior versions. For the next release we're considering dropping support for some of the older DWG file readers and exporters, 2004-2006 (inclusive).

I think dropping support for 2004-2006 could be an issue for government clients. Government/Infrastructure projects typically have a very long scope (6-10 years). Frequently, these projects stick with the software that was used from the project's inception. This could be deal breaker for firms and government agencies dealing with older legacy data.

The main concern would be for anyone who needs to install a 2004-2006 object enabler (where a later version of the OE doesn't exist) against future versions of Navisworks. Let us know if the gov/inf projects you're referring to fall into this category. However most third-party AutoCAD-based apps I'm aware of have released at least a 2007 OE, so again should be OK. 2ff7e9595c
